The Surf School in Ericeira is a perfect place to relax and connect with nature, because we are in a small fishing town and we make sure that you will get the most out of your stay here.
If you want to surf a lot, you will love the Calima surf school in Ericieira, because you can have 2 surf sessions per day; this means a total of 5 hours everyday with experienced surfers, who are certified instructors for the British Surfing Association.
At the surf school you will be able to learn how to surf or improve your style, in a safe environment and with the best conditions.
You can have theoretical surf classes, where you can learn from analysing videos. You will also learn the basic rules to respect other surfers in the lineup.
If you take the beginner course (level 1), you will learn how to stand up on the board and ride a wave. At the same time, we will show you how to read ocean conditions.
But if you have been in a surf school before (or if you can already make the take off), you can join the advanced Course (level 2), and we will guide you to the best surf spots, according to your level.
Surf School Specification

1º Day
Morning: equipment knowledge and wave etiquette review.
2º Day
Morning: basic oceanography of waves and wave etiquette review
afternoon: Video Analysis
3º Day
Morning: surf history of the different surf disciplines
afternoon: duck-diving techniques
4º Day
Morning: tide knowledge
afternoon: Video Analysis
5º Day
Morning: Ding repair... and a visit to a shaper’s house
Second Week
1º Day
Morning: Local Surf Spot History
2º Day
Morning: Theoretical explanation about the take off (dropping in on a wave)
Afternoon: Video Analysis
3º Day
Morning: We will visit the popular surf spots around Ericeira.
4º Day
Morning: Video analysis after the Surf Session
5º Day
Morning: Surf, surf, surf and keep surfing...

Coaching and Guiding is intended for surfers who want to improve their skills quickly with a private coach. You may book this package by days or weeks. Attention: We do not offer this service to beginners, but to surfers who can at least surf safely in two directions (on a reef break). This offer can easily booked additionally to the accommodation price.
